Easy strategies for your planned giving program

Whether you are new to planned giving or a veteran, you’ll leave this session with one good idea that will help you advance your organization’s planned giving efforts. Heather Sherwin, VP for Advancement with Central Carolina Community Foundation and a board member of SC Planned Giving Council will share her favorite donor conversation strategies, board volunteer strategies, stewardship and marketing strategies.


Our Presenter: Heather Sherwin of Central Carolina Community Foundation

Heather Sherwin is the Vice President for Development at Central Carolina Community Foundation. Ms. Sherwin works with philanthropists to set up new charitable funds and collaborates with professional advisors and their clients to fulfill their philanthropic goals. She also serves as a resource for charitable planning in the Midlands community. Sherwin has a B.A. in philosophy from Boston University. Prior to joining the Foundation, she was Director of Principal Gifts for Cleveland Museum of Art where she was responsible for completing a $350 million capital campaign. Her 20 years of fundraising experience include positions with Great Lakes Theater in Cleveland, American Red Cross; Hawken School; and The Masters School in Dobbs Ferry, New York.  Additionally, Ms. Sherwin led her family foundation, The Sherwick Fund which distributed almost $1M annually. She is actively engaged in the Midlands and serves on the executive boards of the South Carolina Planned Giving Council and Women in Philanthropy.
