Creating Safety in Non-Profit Organizations

Join Liz LeClair, CFRE, for a discussion on how to create a culture of safety at non-profit organizations. In AFP Global’s latest Workplace Climate Survey, more than 75% of AFP members said they had experienced some form of sexual harassment during their career. During this session, LeClair will discuss the current climate and what steps individuals and organizations can take to ensure that employees feel safe at work. The session will take an intersectional approach, and will identify the unique barriers that 2SLGBTQAI+, Black, Indigenous, and people of colour face in relation to this issue.

Liz LeClair is proud to call herself a fundraiser and a feminist. She brings morethan 15 years of experience to her role as the Director of Advancement at the Nova Scotia SPCA in Halifax, Nova Scotia (Canada). Liz is a director with Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE), a contributing editor to The Charity Report, new board member with the African American Development Officer (AADO) Association, the past Chair of the AFP Women’s Impact Initiative, and the co-chair of the AFP Fundraiser Bill of Rights Task Force. In 2019, Liz published an op-ed with CBC on her experience being sexually harassed by a donor. She is a co-founder of the National Day of Conversation, a day dedicated to raising awareness on sexual harassment of fundraisers.

Participants will receive 1 CFRE Credit.

Free for anyone attending!
