Association of Fundraising Professionals
Central South Carolina Chapter

Each year, the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) Central Carolina Chapter joins with national and international colleagues to celebrate National Philanthropy Day, a celebration of exceptional individuals and organizations that have dedicated themselves to philanthropy.

Philanthropy is “the love of humankind,” and National Philanthropy Day brings together thousands of people around the world to put that word into action. This special day highlights the changes and accomplishments - both big and small - that philanthropy makes in our society, and we are honored to celebrate it locally.

We celebrated the 2021 winners in a small event on Thursday, November 4, 2021 at the historic Robert Mills House in downtown Columbia. Thank you to the National Philanthropy Day committee, and the AFP Board of Directors for making this special day possible. Thanks too to everyone for sticking with us for another year of an abnormal NPD celebration. Fingers crossed we’re back to 100% in 2022!

We'd also like to recognize this year’s National Philanthropy Day chair, Kate Mayer, and our chapter president, Melissa Getz along with committee members Megan Plott, Isabel Steen and Bethany Mueller. This year, we selected our award winners through a new process headed up by Isabel Steen. Thanks to her leadership we worked with the AFP chapter in Harrisonburg, Virginia on a reciprocal judging effort with out of state judges that led to an unbiased group of judges reviewing our awards this year.

Please help us in congratulating our 2021 National Philanthropy Day Award Winners!
